This minor update to Ticker Tape corrects a small number of issues with the initial release and also adds a small amount of additional user requested functionality; a selection of the important changes are;
Bug fixes
- 1. No longer crashes with an 'error 9' if there are more than the expected maximum of 21 sites in the TickerTapeSites.ini file, they're now just ignored.
2. No longer shows duplicate dialogs were a Site is un-contactable and then crashes (often with an 'error 401') if the initial 'Unable to query Ticker Tape message file ...' dialog is left on screen without being answered for too long
3. Ticker Tape Agent now consistently launches at machine boot when path to executable contains spaces
Enhancements
- 1. Where a defined Site is uncontactable, you now have the option to ignore it for the current Ticker Tape Administrator session
2. The width of the message shown by the Agent is now configurable (from between 20 to 100 percent of the screen width)
3. The font family and size used by the Ticker Tape Agent to show its message is now configurable via the Ticker Tape Administrator
4. Ticker Tape Agent now checks for new messages immediately at start-up rather than waiting until next poll.
Although it's been tested and works on a variety of Windows versions, including Windows 7, Vista, 2003, XP and 2000, as is the norm, I've no doubt also introduced the odd small glitch here and there, so if you find any please let me know!
